Last Spring a group of determined Advanced Construction Tech students built solar panels from scratch. "Constructing these solar panels was a very fun and interesting process" says James Howe, "This upcoming spring, we expect to have built three more solar panels". The construction of these next panels will be slightly different and will hopefully yield better successful results.

  Spring 2011!

Our students have really adopted the "going green" attitude! We have successfully finished numerous projects on campus and all the students seemed wholly excited about each project that we completed.

"I learned that solar ovens are a great way to cook food without using electricity...this makes a huge difference in the amount of money spent on your electric bill"

Cody Deeren

"I learned that it is very important to know exactly you'll need or use when your building and that its important to plan out what you're going to do so that you have a basic idea of how its going to turn out"

With the help of FBLA and their "Going Green" activities, we were able to make Benson High School a more environmentally friendly environment.

Bobcats Go Green started as a project of the Benson High School Future Business Leaders of America. In 2008 FBLA started its first Green Week campaign. During this week students were able to take part in different "green" activities each day. In 2009 this project greatly expanded to all FBLA chapters of Arizona. Check out our, Together We Save page to see how our students have been busy "greening up" our community.
